Test Code UA URINALYSIS - includes chemical and microscopic exams

Important Note

Provided a proper specimen is received, a Urine Culture will be reflexed when one or more of the following occurs:

WBC >5 (6 or above)

Leukocyte Esterase 1+ or greater

Nitrite Positive.

URNC urine culture requires a gray top (preservative).

Urine in Clean Dry Plastic Container. Prefer Urine Collection Kit

Clean Catch specimen is preferred.

2.0 ml Minimum

2 hours room temp (30 minutes for urine culture if not in preservative)
8 hours refrig

Yellow top evacuated tube from Urine Collection Kit is preferred. Submit only the stoppered tubes, do not send the collection cup.
