Tissue - Sterile container; No formalin
Respiratory specimens - sterile container
Swab specimens - wipe away any excessive amount of secretion and discharge, if appropriate
Specimen Volume
Body Fluids other than urine: 3 ml; 1 ml minimum
Urine: 5 ml; 0.5 minimum
Tissue: 1 gm; 0.5 gm minimum
