Specimen Volume
1 ml of sample is preferred. 200 ul is the minimum volume
Specimen Stability
Testing should be started within 10 minutes of collection for most accurate results of TC02.
Special Instructions
Specimen must be sent to the Lab immediately for testing, preferably within 10 minutes of collection.
Testing performed on the ABL90 Flex or iSTAT Analyzer.
Specimen Rejection Criteria
- Large clots
- Unacceptable anticoagulant (EDTA samples)
- >30 mins at room temperature
- > 1 hour on ice
- 25% Air contamination
- Samples with gel separator
